In January, ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton is leading a delegation of ELCA leaders and members visiting the people and ministries of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land – a companion church of the ELCA. The delegation has visited schools and worshiped with members of the companion church, visited the Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem, greeted young adults of the ELCA Young Adults in Global Mission program serving in the Middle East and more. It is also meeting with ecumenical leaders of churches, Palestinian and Israeli officials and others.
