Welcome to the new Living Lutheran, the flagship publication of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Through its primary expressions – a monthly magazine and this website – we continue to share the good news of Jesus Christ through stories, reflections, news and so much more. Please take a tour of the site – there is a place for you here! Explore the many opportunities to share your faith story and learn about who we are as the ELCA – a church that shares a living, daring confidence in God’s grace. Again, welcome to the new Living Lutheran.
Once you’ve taken a tour, be sure to click on the “Subscribe/Log In” button on the top of this page and consider a subscription to the Living Lutheran magazine. New subscriber? Your new website includes:
• Stories and commentary from ELCA members and congregations.
• Exploration on issues important to Lutherans.
• Resources to help deepen your faith through worship, stewardship, arts, music and more.
• Best practices and ideas for mission and ministry.
• Monthly reflections from ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton and others.
• Ideas and resources for parents, grandparents and families.
• Coverage of ELCA religious news, events, social issues and more.
Every Monday, Living Lutheran offers a week’s worth of prayers from the ELCA resource Prayer Ventures. These petitions – one for each day this week – are offered as a guide for your prayer life as together we pray for the needs of the world and give thanks for the ministries of our church.
Living Lutheran also engages in storytelling through videos and images – visit our photo gallery and videos. We also welcome your story ideas and photos. You can submit story tips and high-resolution images directly on this site – see the bottom of this page and click on “Submit idea/photo.”
A very special thanks to ELCA members and others for responding to surveys that have guided the creation of this new website and accompanying magazine.
