Death and transition are universal human experiences. Acknowledging our common mortality, some anonymous plainspoken philosopher coined the phrase: “Nobody gets out alive.” But that realization doesn’t lesson the pain that comes from the loss of a loved one, especially when the loss is unexpected or swift. How can we better love and support our sisters and brothers in their grief?
