ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton has issued a statement on President Donald Trump’s new executive order, “Affording Congress an Opportunity to Address Family Separation,” which will end the practice of separating families who enter the U.S. without previous authorization, but will expand the detention of those families.
