Prayer
God of peace, teach us to give grace to those we encounter daily, and help us to remember that all humanity is aching for connection and kindness. Show us how to be tenderhearted in thought and merciful in action. Amen.

Service
In what ways can you contribute to the community around you? Here are a few ideas to consider:

  • Donate gently used clothes to a local thrift store or nonprofit.
  • Organize a food drive through a local food ministry.
  • Donate school supplies to teachers at a school in your community.
  • Write encouraging letters to folks who are homebound.
  • Volunteer your time in a local congregation. Find out if they need help in the nursery, youth program or other programming, and sign up to serve.
Kelly Mason
Kelly Mason is a content strategist for the ELCA. She is a former worship minister, creative arts director, and youth and family director, and has been working in full-time ministry for her entire professional career. Kelly is using her passion for storytelling, art, design and social media to serve in the Office of the Presiding Bishop on the Strategic Communications team. She is also an ELCA coach and currently resides in Columbus, Ohio, with her wife and their 80-pound bernedoodle.
