In a world full of distractions, cultivating a grateful heart can profoundly shift our perspective. Embracing gratitude allows us to recognize the blessings that surround us, moving our focus from scarcity to abundance. Today’s collection of prompts invites you to explore the many ways cultivating an attitude of thankfulness impact daily life.

Scripture
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

Journal prompt
Write your own definition of thankfulness and then reflect on your earliest memory of gratitude.

Prayer
Abundant God, in times of pain and difficulty, remind us that gratitude doesn’t erase life’s challenges or diminish our struggles. Help us discover how to weave thankfulness into our lives, even in tough moments. Teach us to recognize and reflect on the countless blessings we have. Amen.

Practicing thanksgiving
Take five minutes to consider three people in your life for whom you are grateful. Once you have a few folks in mind, write them letters telling them the impact they’ve had on your life and thank them for specific situations or conversations that impacted you. Mail the letters or deliver them in person.

Affirmation
I am thankful for what I have, praying for what I need, and open to the ways God will guide me in this season of life. I know that God cares about my well-being.
